NavDash sprint orienteering returns next Saturday, 19 July with an event close to the centre of Perth and easily accessible by public transport at Shenton College, Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park – right opposite the Shenton Park train station.

Black Swan Island NavDash

This Saturday June 28 orienteering returns to the short format with a NavDash event around the urban and parkland area of Black Swan Island.  Come and enjoy the scenic island with plenty of nooks and crannies to discover and maybe the occasional swan!

West Aussies Perform at National MTBO Champs

Several OWA members travelled to Alice Springs to compete in 3 days of mountain bike orienteering last weekend. By all accounts the courses were tough but enjoyable, on well maintained tracks in scenic outback locations. Bush event at Jumbuck Hill, Walyunga National Park

Sunday 22 June. Start times 9.30am - 11.30am. Courses close 1.00pm.
Jumbuck Hill is part of the Walyunga National Park, Upper Swan and being close to the city is very easy to access via the Great Northern Highway.

NavDash: Black Swan Island Ascot

Courses are set to Sprint Orienteering standards –easy navigation but fast decision-making required if you want to run at speed.  Or just amble around and enjoy views of the Swan River if you’re not in a hurry.

Natasha Sparg wins Qld MTBO Champs

The Queensland Mountain Bike Orienteering Champs were held on the weekend of May 10-11 and a small contingent of West Aussies travelled over to the town of Stanthorpe to compete.  With a middle and long distance event, combined times determined the overall result and after the two days of racing, WA's Natasha Sparg prevailed to take out the Womens Open title and become the Queensland State Champion.  In the Mens Open, Ricky Thackray persisted through his recent injury slump to

4 Silvers and 2 Juniors in the Australian JWOC team

Four Western Australian orienteers made podium appearances at the recent 2014 Easter 3 Day Orienteering Carnival held in NSW. The Easter 3 Day Carnival is an international event, and as the name suggests is run over three days requiring competitors to put in a consistent effort.
In what was a family affair Oscar McNulty came in second in the Junior Elites, while his mother Anthea Feaver also took silver in the Women’s 50 category. Carol Brownlie and Kjell Winther also made the podium
