WA wins national sprint event in Sydney

Congratulations to our West Australian representatives who travelled to Sydney for round 1 of the National Orienteering League.  The first event was a mixed male-female sprint relay where a WA/Qld combined team picked up a respectable 9th place on the Sydney University campus.

Nav Dash - Whiteman Park

Nav Dash is set to kick of in 2015 at Whiteman Park. Whiteman Park has plenty on offer, bring your picnic for after the event with the Annual General Meeting to be held after the event (approx 4 pm).

The area has an interesting mix of buildings, rail-way and tram lines, grassed open areas, and runnable native bush, and the courses should be fast. Course distances from 2.0 - 3.5 km's. For more information about NavDash,

The final event of the MetrO Series 14/15 Series is on this saturday, overall awards will be presented immediately after the race presentations. Register on the day from 4.15pm with the usual mass start from 5pm.


2014 – 2015 Metro Series Overall Results up for Grabs

With one event to go in the 2014/15 Metro Series, several overall categories are still undecided (see below). Overall Series scores are based on age classes and your best 6 scores from 12 events, provided you run the correct course for your class. Nav Dash - Gosnells

The second Nav Dash event of the year is set to kick off at last years State Championship venue, Pioneer Park, Gosnells. Explore the parklands containing a treetop walk, bbq's for a picnic after the event, playground's, this park is a great place to visit.

MetrO Series Warnbro

MetrO Series Warnbro Warnbro YMCA Community Centre - 14th February 2015

Bring your Valentine to Warnbro for a romantic run along the beach at Sunset, find a control or two while spending time with your loved ones. Register on the day from 4.15pm with the usual mass start from 5pm. There are three distances to choose from 3, 5 or 8km. MetrO Series events are a great introduction to the sport of Orienteering, as easy as reading a street map.

2014/15 Metro Series Orienteering

This summer’s Metro Series is underway and like last year there is a fine spread of suburbs to explore, with the Eastern ones concentrated during the cooler pre-Christmas period while, for the hotter months of January and February, events are all closer to the Coast. There is a 4-week break for Christmas and New Year, and then a short one-week break over the Australia Day long weekend.

We're back after Australia Day weekend and return to lovely Mosman Park, the suburb sandwiched between the Swan River and the Indian Ocean. Metro Series Quinns Rocks

This week's Metro Series event goes further north to the beachside suburbs of Quinns Rocks & Mindarie.  The event commences from the beach so it will be a great opportunity to make an afternoon of it - take a dip before or after the event and have a picnic to round out the day.  Event registration details and times can be found elsewhere on this page and event directions can be found here.

Metro Series Joondalup
