Come and enjoy the MTBO Middle Distance Championships at an MTBO favourite venue close to the city. A different assembly area will allow most riders to explore a new part of this popular area. Pre-entry is open so enter today and ride the Championship courses.

The weekend has two great events to tempt all levels and ages of MTBO riders. First up is the WA State Middle Distance Championships on saturday afternoon at Roleystone. On Sunday morning enjoy the WA State Long Distance Championships to be held at Kalamunda.

After several years as Metro Series Coordinator OWA member Ricky Thackray is taking a well-earned break from the role. Thank you to Ricky for his efforts over the past few years, in particular the mapping of a large number of new areas.

Frazzle Rock, near Beverley

Sunday 3rd & Monday 4th June 2018

Look forward to two challenging days of orienteering at Frazzle, first mapped for the Australian 3 Day event in 2011.

The 2018 Interclub Relays will be at on the popoular ECU Joondalup sprint campus map. Up for grabs is the Rutty Rock Club Relay Trophy. Relay Orienteering is fast, furious fun as the runners come through tagging their team mates. You can compete, spectate and cheer on your fellow club runners as the race unfolds.

Location: Swan Valley Adventure Centre,
Yule Avenue, Middle Swan (Swanleigh)

The Swan Valley Adventure Centre, formerly known as Swanleigh Hostel, is right next to the Swan River in Middle Swan and comprises of 89 acres of park and bushland, with several old buildings making for an interesting terrain mixture for a sprint map.

This event is the first State Orienteering League (SOL) event of the year, which means coming along can earn you points in the Orienteer of the Year

Owen Avenue, Falcon

Keep your wheels rolling in April with an urban mountain bike orienteering event exploring Falcon. On a new map situated on the estuary side of Old Coast Road, the area is almost totally flat and takes in relaxing paths alongside the estuary, conservation reserve and suburbia. Find the controls in any order you choose and write your answers on your question sheet, so make sure to bring a pen along. This event is less a race, more an adventure to find points

NavDash returns to a complex school campus with courses to suit all abilities. The Three Poppies (Daisy, Christine and Rosie) hope to see you at John Curtin as you test your orienteering on a granular* map and have a go in their Anzac Day-themed competitions for a chance to win awesome prizes!

*Granular - in normal speak this means there are lots of buildings, stairs, gates, walkways and gardens to negotiate on your course.

The NavDash series continues at Garvey Park, with some wide-open spaces in contrast to the intricate detail of last weeks venue John Curtin College of the Arts. Bring everyone, including the dog, and have a run around one of Perth’s excellent riverside parks. There is even a cafe at the park for your post-run coffee requirements.

Edmund Rice College, near Bundoon

KO welcomes you to the first bush event for the season at Edmund Rice College (previously Catholic Agricultural College), Bindoon. The map encompasses jarrah and wandoo forest, granite, and spur and gully terrain and as we haven’t used the area for some time it will be like a new map to some of you.

Unfortunately due to a prescribed burn across the whole of the map area the Orienteeringe Event scheduled for this Sunday, 20th May, is cancelled.

We will look to re-schedule the event later in the year. We are sorry for the inconvenience but it is out of our control.

Pechey Road, Jane Brook, Swan View

NavDash returns to the bush for this event, so think creeks instead of buildings, and rocks instead of stairs. The area is fast and open, with plenty of detail to keep you thinking. The recent rain means the grass is green, so it’s a perfect time to enjoy competing in this bush area on the edge of metropolitan Perth.
