Post event Manning Park

Last Saturday’s MetrO event at Manning Park proved very challenging for many competitors. Distances for the short, medium and long courses were no different from other events, but winning times were considerably slower due to the hot weather, hilly terrain and difficulty of running on the narrow sandy and rocky trails. The navigation in the complex trail network was also trickier than at most MetrO events, and even the winners admitted to making a mistake or two (or three, or four).

Thanks to Dave and Ceri Pass for helping with Meet & Greet, Rachel West for providing the novice briefing, Rosalie McCauley and Melinda Richards for handling the computers, and Deavi Purnomo for help with registration. Thanks also to Craig Dufty and Rachel West for help with packing up and, last but not least, a big thanks to all control collectors: Dave Pass, John and Jennifer Major, Paul Dowling, Rob Beattie, Kate and Rohan Braid and Ceri Pass, and Ruben Claessens.
