A flat, short course, beautiful weather, no wind…. what more could the participants have asked for?

The course turned out to be slightly longer than advertised (12km vs 10km), but I’m sure nobody noticed the few extra Ks. A total of 38 starters and 32 finishers, with a few that mispunched.

Everyone rode the same (line) course, which started right outside the OWA shed in Victoria Park (so now most orienteers know where the shed is), with the route first taking the participants ‘down-river’ towards Mill Point Reserve, then back past the Start, then over the Causeway (road or Boorloo footbridge) to the north-eastern part of Heirisson Island (no disturbing the kangaroos!).

Top three finishers were (in order of placement): Hadrien Devillepoix, Verinoka Vavrova and Peter Horak. Well done to you, as well as to everyone else who completed the course virtually without incident (the worst that was reported was a puncture incurred by Tash).

A big thank you to setter Volker Gartz. Thanks also go to Graham for helping out with setting things up before the start, Rosalie for manning the table for EOD’s and timekeeping, and the control collectors Anthea, Marten, Hadrien and Graham. And to Tash, for taking photos and video footage which has been placed onto Facebook.

Results can be found on Eventor. Compare your route with others on Livelox.
