Churchlands

The pleasant weather may have increased competitor numbers or perhaps it was the orienteers who visited a few proximal ParkRun events earlier in the day to advertise the event. Of the 68 competitors, several were new-comers, some individuals, others in groups. It was great to have a new-comer take home a prize.

The mobile Control 13 which did turn into a sprint to the finish saw a few competitors with identical fastest times of 26 secs. Their routes on LiveLox are fun to watch.

It was great to see the different routes chosen. Tom, the setter, appreciated the feedback on some of the technical aspects of the event. It seems that SI-Air was a success - thanks to Mark for coding the bricks during the week. Apologies for placing the Finish out of sight of the Start. Perhaps having the very popular icecream truck available made up for it somewhat.

The short course winners were Ken Brownlie and Amy Dufty. The medium winners were Nick Dale and Liisa Hirvonen. Fastest on the Long were Oliver Martin and Kate Braid. A special thank you to the course setters Archie and Tom Brownlie, and to Carol for the new-comer briefing, Melinda on the computer, and control collectors Graham, Chip, Robert B, Kate, Oliver, Ken and Carol.
