Geneff Park, Sorrento
Eighty-two people attended the event at Sorrento on a blustery and cool day. The start was in a shady, grassy depression which meant an uphill start for everyone.
This time the super-veteran men outpaced the juniors with Noel Schoknecht taking first place on the short course. Liam Dufty again dominated the men's medium course with Sten Claessens completing the long course in just under 36 minutes. Our younger female competitors dominated the short and medium courses with Amy Dufty and Zali Dale winning their respective distances, meanwhile Rachel West added another win on the long course.
WOW members provided administration support with Helen and Ken Post and Ken and Carol Brownlie helping with set-up and pack-up. Newcomer Welcomers were Carol Brownlie and Helen Post; Novice Instruction was given by Carol Brownlie; Control Collectors were Chris Howitt, Peter Hamilton, Graeme Harris, Ken Post and Ken and Carol Brownlie. Melinda Richards and Rosalie McCauley again handled entries and results.
A big thank you to Sarah Richards who, single handedly, set the courses and put out all the controls.
