After a threatening Saturday and a millimetre of rain overnight the day dawned fine but cool. When the organisers and setting team arrived there was fog in the valley which just added extra moisture to the luxuriant growth of cape weed covering the assembly area and much of the course. The day went well, there were some fast times and most competitors enjoyed the open terrain interspersed with very detailed rocky areas. We welcomed a few newcomers including one of the local farmers and his son.

Congratulations to the State Open Champions, Rachel West and Craig Dufty. Thanks to Graham Braid for setting the courses and to Ceri Pass for controlling and to Dave, Wendy, Kate, Lachlan, Rohan, Vanessa, Russell, Andries, Sten, Tim and Nick for doing all the other things that are necessary for a successful event. We would also like to thank Eric Hobbs and Greg Barrett-Lennard, the land owners, for their friendliness and help.
