Location: Ridley Rd, Mt Observation LGA Marginata2018

Get some bush experience, and perhaps some OY points, at a State Orienteering League (SOL) event using a map set in our Marginata mapping locality. Good open running in a restricted area with granite outcrops, plenty of watercourses and bare rock. A recent burn has provided open bush, the main obstacles being burnt twigs and much exposed rock!

The event includes a full complement of hard and sub-hard courses, suitable for all ages and abilities.

Be sure to run the appropriate course (or a harder one) for you age group if you'd like to qualify for points for the State O League (SOL) Orienteer of the Year competition!

Registration times: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Start times: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
Courses close: 1:00 pm. Please return to the assembly area by 13:00 even if you haven't completed your course.
Courses: all courses are enter on the day (EOD)

Map: 1:10,000 scale on A4 paper. Two part maps for the H1 and H2 courses. Parts 1 and 2 are on the one sheet, start you course on Part 1, then turn over the may at the last control and continue on Part 2.
Facilities
: Toilet, cake stall, water on the course
Bring: Lunch, water, leg protection, insect repellent, e-tag and compass if you have them or borrow ours as part of your entry fee.
Calophylla is in a water catchment area. A toilet will be on-site and please remember animals are not permitted at bush events.
