OWA member wins national award
During the Easter Carnival, our very own Noel Schoknecht was presented with the prestigious Silva Award for Services to Orienteering. This recognizes Noel's long contribution to all aspects of the sport at the club, state, national and international level. Well done Noel, and well deserved!!
 
West Aussies on the podium
Congratulations to our place getters at the Australian Easter 3 Day championships held in SA. Carol Brownlie won W60A by a margin of  9 mins over the 3 days, Noel Schoknecht won 55AS by a decisive 39 mins,  and Paul Dowling gets to keep the winner's Superman boxer shorts after blitzing the M21A "Sledge" competition by 13 mins. Promising junior Jessica Madden came 2nd in W12A; in the Men's Elite, Oscar McNulty ran consistently to claim 2nd overall;  and, Anthea Feaver came 3rd in a strong W55 field. Kellie Martin won W20AS and Coreen Maynard was too good on the WEasy course. Click here for full results.
