This summer’s Metro Series is underway and like last year there is a fine spread of suburbs to explore, with the Eastern ones concentrated during the cooler pre-Christmas period while, for the hotter months of January and February, events are all closer to the Coast. There is a 4-week break for Christmas and New Year, and then a short one-week break over the Australia Day long weekend.

Metro orienteering events are runner, family and dog friendly, and are easily achievable by anyone who can read a street map. For more information about the Metro Series, view our Urban Event Guide. You can also win one of the weekly or series prizes  - find out more about classes and awards.

All events are on Saturday afternoons at the usual time of 5.00pm (registration from 4.15pm) and there will be the usual three courses – Short (2-3kms), Medium (4-6kms), or Long (7-8kms).

If you want to maintain your orienteering fitness over summer, the Metro Series has to be one of your regular workouts – and you can win one of the weekly or series prizes too!
