NavDash sprint orienteering returns next Saturday, 19 July with an event close to the centre of Perth and easily accessible by public transport at Shenton College, Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park – right opposite the Shenton Park train station.
NavDash events are short distance (2 – 4kms) held in a compact area with lots of map detail. The courses are suitable for beginners - navigating at slow speed – and experts who will be attempting to navigate while running at high speed. Competitors start at intervals of one minute, and a course will take from 12-15 minutes to 30+ minutes depending on your speed.
There will be two sprint courses, and an easy course for beginners and children. All courses will be electronically timed. The entry fee for casual members includes hire of a timing chip (Sportident Card) and a compass. Full members should remember to bring their SI Card.
For more information about NavDash events, go to the NavDash event page, and the Sprint Orienteering Tips page.
Registration for the event will be open from 1.00pm to 2.00pm, with the first starters heading off at 1.30pm. There will be a short briefing for beginners at around 1.20pm.
This is the last NavDash before the State Sprint Orienteering Championships at Gosnells on 6 September, and therefore a good opportunity to get some practice!
