September 22 2013, Ngangaguringguring Hill

The Be Active Long Distance Championship will be held at the popular Ngangagurringguring Hill map. The event is part of the State Orienteering League and provides you with an opportunity to enjoy a long distance course within a two day weekend of orienteering.

If you enter the Be Active Long Distance Championship you will participate in age class competition over classic distance course with a range of navigational challenges. OAWA’s Championship events provide all participants with friendly competition on courses suitable for all skill levels.

Entry Details

Entry is online via Eventor

Entries close: midnight on Monday 16th September 2013.

If you wish to compete in the Be Active Long Distance Championship event you must enter via Eventor before the closing date.

After this time you are very welcome to come to the event and enter on the day. Courses for those registering on the day will be: Courses 2,4,6,7,8,9 and 10.
If you choose this option you will start your course after the last participant in the Championship event and you may have to copy your own course on to a map. Complete event fees.

Entry benefits:

•    Plastic water proof map – no need for map bags if it is wet!

Event Information: Start times and any additional competition details will be sent via email to entrants prior to the event, listed in Eventor and displayed at the event site.

Awards:  The trophies for State Champions Middle Distance will be presented as soon as convenient to the first placed M21 and W21 competitors who are full members of OAWA and WA residents.  Presentations will also be made to age-group winners in all other championship classes and place-getters will be acknowledged.

At the Event

First Championship start: 9.30 – 11.30 (Register on the day starts following championship competitors)
On the Day Registration: 9.15 – 11.00 (Register on the day– see Notes, above)
Course Closure: 1.00pm (please return to the caravan by this time)
Bring:    SPORTident tag, compass, tick repellent, leg protection, water, sunscreen
Facilities: Chemical toilets, drinks & cake stall.

Getting There

Take Great Eastern Highway from Midland through Sawyers Valley for a further 5 km.  Turn right onto Flynn Road and continue to a T junction. Turn left onto Goods Road and continue to the Assembly Area as signed. Please park only on the North side of Goods Road.
