April 27th & 28th saw two West Australians travel to Victoria for a weekend of Mountain Bike Orienteering. The Victorian Sprint, Middle and Long MTBO Distance championships were all held on the weekend as part of the Mountain Bike National Orienteering league and doubled as the national selection races for the Australian MTBO team for the 2013 MTBO World Championships.

Previous Australian team member Ricky Thackay did his selection ambitions no harm, finishing 3rd in the Sprint and 2nd place in the both Middle and Long Distance in the open elite field. Duncan Sullivan won the M50 age class in the Sprint and Long distance events.
