The next Orienteering event is a NavDash at the Wildflower Tavern, John Forrest NP on Saturday, 13th April.  This event will suit both sprint and bush orienteering aficionados alike, and is also very suitable for beginners.

There will be two courses of approximately 2kms and 3 kms.  Those who like more distance are welcome to do both courses!

No previous orienteering experience is necessary, and members of the public are welcome at this event.  There will be a briefing for beginners at approximately 1.30pm.  More information for beginners is available at the NavDash page.

Registration will be open from 1.00pm to 2.00pm, with start times from 1.30pm to 3.00pm.

Directions:
The entrance to John Forrest NP is on Great Eastern Highway near Glen Forrest; take the second entrance, which is 800m after cresting the summit of Greenmount Hill (there is a first entrance before the crest which is scenic, but much longer!). Approximately 1.2km after entering the Park, turn left and pass through the Ranger Station.  If there is a Ranger on duty, say you are orienteering and you will be waved through to pay your Park Entry fee* at the event.  Continue for a further 800m to Park HQ and follow signs to the parking area.  (* A special fee of $5.00 has been negotiated, payable at event registration.)
