Sunday 1st - Monday 2nd June
The WA Classic is a standard bush event on two consequtive days on the June Long Weekend. Awards are made for first male and first female on each course, based on cumulative time over the two days. It is a great opportunity to get out of the city for a two-day event, camp on the Sunday night, enjoy the evening with your orienteering friends and compete again on the Monday morning.
This year's WA Classic will be held at the Frazzle map, offering plenty of boulders, rock surfaces, contour details and fast open running on a farmland near Brookton.
While either day can be entered as a standalone single day event, only those people who enter both days and run the same course each day will be eligible for the WA Classic overall awards. So if you run Hard 2 on Day 1 you will need to run Hard 2 on Day 2 to qualify. There is no requirement to enter any specific course based on age grouping.
Accommodation: Camping is available near the assembly area on Saturday and Sunday nights, or you may wish to stay in the Brookton/Beverley area. Remember that this is a long weekend, so if booking accommodation, do it soon.
Note: The map area is out of bounds until courses open on Sunday.
More information is available on Eventor.
Both events (Bush 4 and 5) are a selection events for the WA Schools Team.

It's new! An Extra Short Course (“xS”)
There will be an extra course available on Sunday. It is a trial for a new option that might be offered occasionally, designed to suit senior or injured orienteers who have difficulty with the physical demands common in H5 courses but want more interesting challenges than VE. However, it could have other uses: sprint training; introduction to symbol descriptions; etc.
It will be less than 1.5 km, have minimal climb and at least 8 controls, mostly at H-M standard control sites. It will require as much detailed map reading and terrain awareness as the map permits, with no unavoidable steep slopes, rocky ground or “green”.
Bush 5: WA Classic Day 2 - Monday 2nd June
Courses: H1-5, M, E, VE
Registration: Pre-entry preferred via Eventor. EOD (Enter on the Day) will be available at the event from 9am.
Start Times: 9.30 - 11.30am.
Courses Close: 1pm. Please return to the assembly area by this time, even if you haven't finished your course.

More information: Check Eventor and the Information flyer.
Note: On Day 2 there will be a reverse chasing start (non-compulsory, but highly recommended - as in 2024 WA Classic at Dryandra). Starts will be at 2 minute intervals, from 9.30am. The last placed on each course from Day 1 will start first and so on until the first placed from Day 1 will start last on that course. If you miss your ‘slot’ you can start at the next space on your course. Please check Day 1 results to find who you will be starting after on Day 2.
