All Orienteering WA events are open to the public.
Online pre-entry is available for all events now, and is the preferred method of registering, though most events can be entered on the day without pre-entering. Online registrations close the Friday night before the event.
Where the event is a State Championships event, there are special rules for pre-entry, and entries are closed for those events a week before the event. There are a limited number of courses available for non-championship participants, but start times will be after all championship participants have started their races.
Awards will be presented in all championship classes and all place-getters acknowledged. To be eligible for the trophy as State Champion the M21 and W21 winners must be full financial members of OWA and WA residents.
How age classes work:
- Competitors are divided into classes according to sex, age, course length (and degree of difficulty). Women may compete in men’s classes.
- Competitors aged 20 or younger belong to each class up to the end of the calendar year in which they reach the given age. They are entitled to compete in older classes up to and including 21.
- Competitors aged 21 or older belong to each class from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the given age. They are entitled to compete in younger classes down to and including 21.
Online entry will usually be available about four weeks before an event. Pre-entry will be opened via the Eventor Event and Membership system and will be announced when each event is open.
