Nannup, WA - Map Downloads

Nannup is an attractive rural town situated in the South West region of Western Australia, approximately 280 kilometres south of Perth. It is on the banks of the Blackwood River, nestled in the Blackwood River Valley. Being at the crossroads of the Vasse and Brockman Highways, it is within easy reach of most of the lower South West's regional centres.

There are 3 standard line courses and a scatter course available for downloading. Apart from some log stairways there is no significant climb on any of the courses. If you are already in Nannup and unable to print downloaded courses, prints can be obtained from the Wild Eyed shop at 33 Warren Street. There is also a smart-phone based course available via MapRunF.
Line courses

Starter: Basic navigation, with the easiest route choices being on parkland and along ‘handrails’ (tracks, on this course); intended for young children or as an introduction to orienteering maps (0.6km).
Short: Basic navigation, with minor route choices, through parts of the township and the river foreshore (1.5km).
Long: Easy navigation but requiring significant route choices (2.3km as drawn but at least 3.1km).
Scatter course: The scatter course has all 20 controls used for the line courses.

The start and finish for all these courses is at the northern shelter in Foreshore Park, close to the Caravan Park. Other starts could be used by anyone prepared to design their own course using the existing control sites shown on the ‘all controls’ scatter course map.

MapRunF is an Australian-developed phone app (available in iOS and Android) for Orienteering and is free to use. MapRunF uses your smartphone for timing and to check that you have visited the control points. You find the control points by using the map and the map will also be displayed on your smartphone. There are no markers or timing devices on the ground. Your smartphone identifies when you have reached a control point with a loud beep, and the MapRunF app screen will show your time and progress. Download the map AND download and install the free MapRunF app from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. Check the MapRunF Quick Guide
