EVENT PROGRAM
There will be four events on offer, with a 'warm up' race to be held on Friday to introduce traveling competitors to the renowned WA terrain, sprint and middle distance races on Saturday and the long distance event on Sunday.
Friday October 14 - afternoon: Score event (Turner Hill)
Saturday October 15 - morning: Australian Sprint Distance Champs (Dwellingup)
Saturday October 15 - afternoon: Australian Middle Distance Champs (Marrinup)
Sunday October 16 - morning: Australian Long Distance Champs (Murray Valley)
The sprint distance race will commence at the Dwellingup Oval and will include urban areas, motorbike trails, the railway and parkland. The middle distance race includes the Marrinup single track circuit, the Marrinup campground and old POW site as well as the old Dwellingup golf course. The long distance race will be held on the north side of the Murray River, including plantation forest and natural bush land with good rideability.
The events are being held one week prior to the Cape to Cape MTB stage race, so travellers from interstate can stay a while and take in one of WA's iconic MTB events.
All events are within a short drive of town so no need for long drives once you have settled in.
Presentations for the 2016 Mountain Bike Orienteering Series winners will also be made at the conclusion of this event, so be there to accumulate valuable points and stake your claim on the series.
EVENT AREA
Dwellingup is a historic town and is a meeting point for both the Bibbulmun Track (walking) and Munda Biddi Trail (riding). The Munda Biddi runs through all of the event areas so you will get a taste of it whilst competing.
